How beautiful is the idea of an afterlife?
When I say “Zindagi mot ka masla nahi hai”, I often find myself thinking we are going to die one day, no matter what. Something will be zindagi mot ka masla, one day.
I don’t like how we are always taught about the bad deeds, the good deeds, the punishments, or the rewards of the afterlife.
Why does nobody talk about how we are literally going to live with our loved ones, but a new life?
My little sister was down with a fever today. I tried to cheer her up by saying, “Zindagi mot ka masla nahi hai, kion keh mot k baad bhi zindagi hai!”
“I’d like to meet Nani Amma and Nana Abbu”, I said.
“I’d like to meet Dada Abbu, too!”, my sister added.
My Dada Abbu passed away when my father was an infant. He didn’t get to see him.
All we know about him is that he was a kind man.
A wave of contentment swept through me. It made me immensely happy that one day, without any doubt, we are all going to meet our loved ones. There are no what if’s. No But’s.
We will be with those we love.
How beautiful is the idea of an afterlife? Those who have lost loved ones, there is no hope that they’ll come back but there is faith that we are going to meet them.
